Must have a genuine interest in animal welfare with a sound knowledge of farm animal welfare issues.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and be proficient in the use of word processing; also have an excellent telephone manner and command of the English language, good computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
They must have the ability to communicate, both written and verbally, on a wide range of animal matters, many of which are of a sensitive nature. Good personal organisational skills, combined with attention to detail and a confident ability to juggle a busy workload are required for this important role. Must be able to use initiative and work under pressure, and to tight deadlines.

RELIEF VETERINARY MANAGER (Position now filled)

To oversee and organise all aspects of our veterinary department and to be responsible
for the veterinary needs of all animals in Hillside's care both at Frettenham and West Runton.
The successful candidate must have equine and farm animal veterinary experience, be a good team player and communicator, as well as having the ability to use their own initiative and report any concerns to management in a timely manner. You must also be able to delegate work and identify any training needs. Assist with staff reviews, issues/concerns and any adhoc duties as required including ensuring the cleanliness and presentation of the section is of a high standard.
This role involves working closely with other staff and management, also outside authorities.
