	Black Beauty - Anna Sewell Some of Hillside's rescued horses are enjoying the summer, grazing in a meadow neighbouring the estate where Anna Sewell, author of Black Beauty, often stayed with her uncle and close to where she is buried. Anna Sewell, back in the mid Victorian period was, in her own way, a campaigner for animal welfare and was very much a ‘local girl’.
