Cows in Crisis Appeal... Cows in Crisis Appeal...
March 2013 - We have just returned to Norfolk after assisting Trading Standards with a major rescue involving a large herd of ex dairy cows and calves who had been so badly neglected that around 60 of them became so emaciated that they had died or been euthanised on welfare grounds.
With Hillside's help, 90 survivors, have this week, been moved to a safe haven but, to provide a long-term future for these cows, after all the suffering they have been through, we turn to our supporters for help. Thank you...

Animal Investigation Appeal Animal Investigation Appeal

If you would like to make donation to help fund our Farm Animal Investigations please enter the amount of pounds you wish to give below. This will help us to continue exposing animal suffering that is commonplace behind the closed doors of farming industry.
It was through this fund, that we were recently able to expose extreme suffering to horses in a major Bristish licenced horse slaughterhouse. Thank you

Hay-Saver Net Appeal... Hay-Saver Net Appeal...

This winter, with so many more mouths to feed, it is vitally important that we get the best value from our hay by keeping waste to a minimum. Animals are notorious for pulling chunks of hay from their rings, eating a mouthful and then dropping the rest on the ground which can get easily trodden on and wasted. We are now investing in large hay-saver nets which completely cover the bales in the feeding rings to help stop this happening. If you would like to donate towards the cost of these hay-savers which are £50 each, you may donate below - thank you

Veterinary Appeal for Gelding Recently Rescued Foals and Stallions Veterinary Appeal for Gelding Recently Rescued Foals and Stallions
At the time we were undertaking our investigation into how horses are slaughtered in a UK abattoir, we gave sanctuary to several horses and ponies, including pregnant mares and foals, to save them from the kind of horrific ending that we were witnessing at the Red Lion abattoir.

Many of those horses that we have given a home to, are due to be gelded, including 10 of 12 recently rescued foals. It is because horse owners leave uncastrated horses to indiscriminately breed, that we saw some of the sad sights before us in the abattoir where young horses were facing a cruel and unnecessary end. These necessary 'ops' have come at a time when our dedicated staff are struggling through the wettest year on record, to keep our animals well and when our resources are becoming stretched.

If anyone would like to help towards these vital geldings, which allows horses to live happily together, without the worry of future 'clip clopping' of tiny hooves, please donate below. These 'ops' cost around £150 for each horse and every £1 donated will help to pay this additional, but very necessary, veterinary bill. Thank you for caring...

Hay Ring Appeal... Hay Ring Appeal...

Rings to safely hold the large bale haynets cost around £100 each. These rings and nets save the wastage of so much hay and are really a good way to feed horses... any help towards these would be very gratefully received.
Thank you...

Hungry Horse and Pony Hay Appeal Hungry Horse and Pony Hay Appeal

If you would like to help us feed hungry horses, ponies and donkeys that desperately need our help during the winter, please enter the amount of pounds you wish to give here. An average bale of hay cost around £4.

Please note: this appeal is to help us help horses that have been reported to us by concerned members of the public. Sometimes there can be deliberation about who should be feeding hungry animals which appear to be abandoned. If we know about them, we feel it is morally right to feed them while responsibilities are being sorted out. Thank you.
